Character Information
Name/Alias: Ryota Kisa
Fandom: Kuroko no Basuke
Canonpoint: post season 3, episode 67
Gender: male
Age: 16
Physical Description:

As far as looks are concerned, Kise was really quite lucky. With golden brown eyes that match his golden hair, and a tall, athletic build, he is definitely blessed by being one of the better looking generation of miracles. Because of that much, he found modeling early - already doing a bit of that work on the side in middle school. He keeps his hair a bit longer, for the sake of his side-career, and has a single piercing in his left ear, as well as long, distinct eyelashes. At 6’2” and 150 lbs, he is the most average out of his old team, but he is still fairly tall. He is used to having the capacity to groom himself, with carefully maintained hands, eyes, hair, everything. His looks are an important part of him - especially considering how they separate him, even during his imitations, but they are hardly all there is to Kise Ryouta.
History: Kise Ryouta, world-class model, master basketball player, teenage heart-throb.
Personality:
Abilities: Kise is human - a little known fact that is sometimes forgotten when it comes to the artistic expression that is Kuroko no Basuke. When you’re watching teenage boys shoot lasers out of their hands and stop time for the sake of winning a basketball game, it’s pretty easy to forget as much. And it helps, really, that Kise and the rest of his generation of miracles generally have excellent physiques, above average strength, speed and stamina. He is incredibly athletic, a national champion for multiple years, and Kise could be considered even more so than the rest of his friends - his copying (which we will get into later) requires that he have the ability to match, if not exceed, that physical abilities of the enemy he is trying to copy. It burns through his body much quicker, as well, but he is able to keep up in the first place.
And then there is Kise’s super power - his copy.
Growing up, Kise had become quite bored with sports because of it - an innate ability to observe, understand, and then mimic abilities, talents, and special movies with an unbelievable speed. Sometimes it takes a single moment, sometimes it takes half an hour, but do to his own self understanding of his abilities, as well as a personal need to get better, he can always manage it. The reason he can play basketball at all is because he watched Aomine play. It only needs one time before he can copy a move, as long as he is of equal or more strength and speed.
It is not limited to basketball, and his ability to copy movement, mindsets, and patterns is something he takes with him in all walks of life. Growing up through these abilities, he could usually only copy the moves of those he’s around most recently. As he grows into the next tournament, it comes out that he can pull on and copy any move he’s ever seen, including those of the generation of miracles with him.
Like mentioned, there are limitations - he can only copy something he has the physical capability to complete. And, like mentioned, it takes an incredible toll on his body. He has the shortest career out of all of the generation of miracles. This can, arguably, be extended to encompass needing to copy beyond just the hour or so of the game.

History: Kise Ryouta, world-class model, master basketball player, teenage heart-throb.
Personality:
Kise Ryota, above all, is a basketball player.
A little surprising for some, considering how he didn't start playing until middle school, and even then had come in fairly late to the game. Prior to his middle school years, Kise had been a fairly aloof person, burning through sports like outfits, a new one every few months due to the speed at which he could perfect it. This Kise was incredibly unmotivated, lazy, and generally disconnected from his classmates and peers as a whole. It wasn't fun when everyone he tried to play with ended up hating him, so what was the point?
That was, until he got hit - literally - with a new option in life: basketball.
Joining the basketball team changed quite a bit about Kise. As soon as he met a team of other players who he could not match, let alone beat, he started to let himself try. Deep down, Kise needs that challenge, needs someone to admire and try to reach. What he found was an entire team, a generation you could say, and Kise was really able to let himself grow.
The Kise we know now is split into a few different settings. There is the Kise around his fans (as a famous model, they tend to follow him around), the Kise around his friends, the Kise on the basketball court, and then there's the Kise we don't see much. The Kise that hovers somewhere under the surface, scratched from time to time, but rarely seen. We will get to that Kise later - for now, let's start with the beginning.
Kise around his fans.
Kise is a model by trade, well-kept and well-poised. He has a collection of girls who follow him around when he's in public, both at his own school and when he travels outside. This Kise is a little more controlled, charming and on point. He knows what his fans like to see, and he gives it to them, waving and signing autographs even when he's just standing in the gym of another school. This Kise is a bit calmer, trying to make sure his reputation as a 'public figure' is kept up and well maintained. This includes his clothes, hair, face, etc. He isn't so much vain as he knows what his fans like and knows what to give them. He is impressive, talented and in control - and a lot of the time, this Kise is the one he brings on to the court, just to watch the other team get riled up.
After this is the Kise around his friends. This Kise is much less of the cool heartbreaker he tries to present himself as around his friends. He is outgoing, flamboyant, friendly, and has no issue being the butt of teasing and jokes from those around him, often with dramatic responses just for the sake of responding. He reacts over the top to trivial thing, getting excited and sad and happy and upset at the drop of a hat. This is the Kise that came around after joining basketball, persistent and almost annoying at how quickly he took to his teammates and how much he worked to be around them. This Kise is touchy, happy, generally personable and overly friendly - especially with people who don't seem to want said friendship. He adds little nicknames to the end of those whom he respects (Kurokochii, Aominechii, Midorimacchi, etc) and is not afraid to insert himself into conversations and lives. He is confident, which is half the reason he is okay with the teasing and abuse (usually just from Aomine and Kasamatsu).
This Kise is also much more honest, blunt, and unafraid to speak his mind. A lot of the times, this leads to almost cruel statements, as he is not one to worry about what other people think. He doesn't give people the time of day if he doesn't see them as worthy, and while he usually waits until he respects someone to be this close with them, he doesn't really care if he offends or annoys anyone around him.
Then, of course, there is the Kise on the basketball court - driven, determined, intense and competitive. This is the Kise who takes things very, very seriously, and who is prepared to dedicate himself in any way possible for the sake of winning. This Kise made his debut after he originally started playing basketball, but faded away once it became clear that he was so much better than most other opponents, only really coming out in his games against Aomine or other teammates. Once he trusts the players around him, Kise is really able to play, because while he tries to set himself up to be independent and selfish - he cares about the people around him. He cares about them deeply and wholly, without really trying.
In-game Kise, as well as normal, out of game Kise, is incredibly observant. His ability to mimics and copy moves and abilities is partially rooted in that - being able to watch, understand, and then imitate not only movement, but thoughts as well. He is incredibly perceptive, and understands people quickly and without much effort. He can read what they’re thinking, or how they’re feeling, and then act based on that information. He is not exactly the manipulative type, especially not towards friends or anyone he trusts, but he knows when and how things happen.
Because Kise’s personality - as loud and flirty and dramatic as it may seem - is in a lot of ways, fragile. He spent a good amount of his time before basketball on his own, copying talents of players and then watching as they all dropped him or forced him out. Because of this, he built this layering system without realizing it, distancing himself from that pain. What he realized, after being accepted and finding those teammates he couldn’t beat, is that he doesn’t necessarily have to be alone. This understanding, however, was questioned when they all moved on to separate high schools - a splitting of the only real friends he knew - and it took a little reality check from his captain before he could really fall back into that same leveling of personalities. It is an ingrained part of Kise, however, that you and your relationships are only as good as your worth. Be it his place on the team, or within his group of friends, but he takes a slightly negative outlook on people in general - people care about what benefits them, and as long as he can remain relevant, important, talented, then his place in their lives is stable.
He is incredibly internal, in that way, wrapped up in an extremely flirty and confident package. And while he is quick to shift masks - charming/model, playful/friendly, intense/powerful - at his heart he is waiting for that day when he is pushed out. He will fight it, and he will push himself to be better, to have fun, but with a failing body (ankle) there is only a matter of time.
